Hey,
Hi, I’m Burçin Ayebe—an interdisciplinary artist, photographer, and storyteller based in New York, originally from Istanbul. My work lives at the intersection of art, performance, visual storytelling, and social impact. Whether I’m behind the lens or curating a participatory performance, I’m always exploring the space between image, emotion, and human experience.
I hold an MFA in Digital and Interdisciplinary Art Practice from City College of New York and have studied visual communication, plastic arts, and business across Istanbul, Barcelona, and NYC.(yes, I’ve lived many lives) My practice has taken many shapes—from exhibiting in galleries, site-specific performances and to performing at places like the Baryshnikov Arts Center and Flux Factory. I’ve also curated exhibitions and taught visual perception and photography at the college level.
In 2018, I founded LucidLux Studio, where I blend cinematic thinking with my passion for storytelling. With LucidLux, I focus on lifestyle photography that captures the emotions and stories behind brands, businesses, and live performances—especially the kind that sing, dance, or sparkle under stage lights.Think musicals, dance, and everything with dramatic lighting and heartfelt energy.
When I’am not behind the camera or on set,( or down in a creative rabbit hole) I can be found ice skating, dancing, cloud watching or designing dinner parties that double as performances. For me, art is not just what I make—it’s a lifestyle, and how I move through the world.
